Drop down update database.

I've been reading though tutorials like crazy but can't seem to get thi figured out.

What I'm looking for is a drop down box with a submit button that will update a table in the database.

My database looks like this:
--Whirlpool_month
----Monthid
----Selected_Month

What I want is a drop down with the months of the year.
January
Februray
etc...

But if I select January, 1 will be placed in "Selected_Month"
If I selected March, 3 will be changed to 3 in Selected_Month"
If I go back and select October, the 3 would be changed to 10
But after I click the submit button it will reload the page.

How can I do this?

If you don't want a page reload then use AJAX (search for it).

If you don't want to use AJAX then you are going to have to store the value and use it to dynamically generate the form with the item set to selected=selected.
