using multiple js and css scripts

I am working on a website and it is going to have a lot of javascript and css files for all the components that I am putting on the site. Is there a way I can have just one php statement to load all the scripts on the page.

I have been looking at http://wonko.com/post/a_faster_jsmin_library_for_php but there is no information on how to use it and do I have to echo the contents like they have done on my header file?

If you know any alternatives I would appreciate.

That jsmin library is a Javascript minimizer, it at face value does not help you achieve what you want.

What I would recommend you do, is have all javascript/css as it would be in EACH html file, as in, nothing special, no echo required.

Save it as a file, scriptincludes.php as an example, then in each file, within the head statement, "include" it.

<html>
<head>
...
<?php
include "scriptincludes.php"; // All of my javascript/CSS includes
?>

Note though, for W3C Validation if I am not mistaken you still need to have all of these items in external files.
In the PHP file you would do your normal <script type="text/javascript src="blah.js"></script> etc etc.

The include file would just be 1 file you could use to make any changes you make to that file be globally recognized.

If you want to go more advanced, you could also look into Smarty Templates.

Thanks for the reply. I m going off topic but dont I need to be an expert to use Smarty templates. I have not got to using classes or getting a good understanding of them so thats why I have posted anything that uses them?

Whats your own opinion on Smarty Templates for beginners?

Sorry if I insinuated that, that was not the intent of more advanced, but it is -- definitely more advanced than the method I recommended.

On the note of using Object Oriented PHP, the best way to start using them is just that -- start using them! They are easier to use than write (if its well documented).

Smarty templates aren't too bad for beginners as mentioned above about documentation, there's lots out there, and lot's of tutorials.

I think Smarty Templates are good for anyone willing to tackle it, if you have a severe time constraint on publishing the website maybe starting a new system like Smarty isn't good for right now, but if you have a little time to get used to it, they're great.

Similarly to Zend Framework (An MVC Framework) with Smarty you can do your design once, which I like, and any adjustments you make to the design will be reflected globally.

In short - I never doubt anyone, I picked up Object Oriented PHP quickly but still suffer from a poor in-depth understanding of Regular Expressions, its a matter of comfort level, I always say try it! If you don't like it, put it aside and pick it up again later on.
