Admin webpage needed

I am new to the programming side of things. I have HTML and CSS knowledge and have built many site, but this is my first that needs some admin pages.

details:
School site, each class has a page they can upload pictures and text to (currently they send it all to me and I change it each week)
Need a secure webpage, with a form so they can browse the local drive find a new picture, press submit and it changes the picture currently showing. Same scenario for text and about 5-6 sections of this per page.

I have had a look into various CMS programs, but we don't want to go down that route as it's too complex and means we have to install it on the server. We just need some secure webpages that I can FTP to the server.

Not really sure where to start? Any helpers out there for a newbie.

Creating a basic admin section requires that you understand sessions. The php site has a section on this. It also has a session on uploading files. You could also try googling some tutorials.
