Generate number

I looking for something that can count 1-9 or 1-100 etc when refreshing page. I found this but in this case it only give random value between 1 and 9.

$random = (rand()%9);

Have php other function that can count 1- higher value without random value?

Not sure if this is what you mean:

with $SESSION work but is there other way without it and less cod? Maybe $SESSION is only way to generate something like 1-higher value.

I looking more or less funktion like rand() but without generating random value. I have looking on php.net to se if there is similar funktion but without any luck.

I'm afraid that I do not really understand what you want to do. If the solution I suggested is not what you need functionally, then I need a better explanation of what it is exactly that you want to do. For the specific functionality I was imagining you might mean, the code I supplied is about as short as I can think of. If that's not the functionality you are looking for, then I need a more thorough explanation as to the exact functionality you want implemented.

Your code do what I looking for. But I just wonder if there was some other function that do same thing but without SESSION and with less code. Code below works and do same thing and it’s not much more code than rand() function but something similar without SESSION would be great. If there are any otherwise SESSION works nice to and nothing wrong with it I think

$number = $_SESSION['count']++;
echo $number;

you need the session to store the number for the user between refreshes, as http is stateless it has no way of knowing what happened on the previous page request.
