  • [RESOLVED] Could ordinary users edit (or request an edit of) their thread subjects?

I wanted to edit the subject of a thread I recently posted; it's been resolved and I think a more specific title would be more helpful, but I can't find this ability anywhere and searching the FAQ and forums here doesn't mention it.

Reading up about this particular board software seems to suggest only mods or admins can edit thread subjects anyway which makes perfect sense when I think about it - people randomly changing subjects would cause chaos!

I completely accept that I could have come up with a better subject in the first place but the thread moved on a fair bit.

What's the policy? Should I ask if a rename would be appropriate and if so, request it? Or just leave it - and be more thorough next time?

I believe you can edit the thread title until it's replied to, afterward your kinda SOL unless you ask a mod for an edit

Here are two threads of mine I could have given better subjects to in the first place.

With the progress of their content and their resolutions it's probably even more appropriate they be changed but I leave it to the mods to decide if that's the case or not.

      1) Simple XML question
Better subject would be: Parse XML to extract one specific element

      2) Best table design
Better subject would be: Prevent multiple entries when updating table

In fact, thread 2 might also be better in newbie or coding rather than database!

      Thanks
