PHP with FLASH and XML - works as HTML not as PHP

I look after a property website which uses joomla, Hot Property and macromedia flash to display slideshows of photos of the properties. Recently the slideshow stopped working. The site source code hadn't been altered, just appears that the hosting company had rebuild PHP.
I run the relevant piece of code live on the site and the slideshow doesn't appear (just the control bar for moving between photos). I copied the resulting source (using view Page Source in Firefox) to a file on the server as a named HTML file, run the HTML and the slideshow works. Any ideas what might be happening?
[The php creates an xml file which is then the input parameter to the flash player .swf file. I've checked the output xml file and it's as it should be.]

Your script is causing an internal server error. That's why the flash isn't working. If you go to the page that is supposed to output xml: http://www.bulgarianvillagehomes.com/components/com_hotproperty/hpimgxml.php?flaprop=938 to see the response, it gives you a 500 Internal Server Error.

Without having access to the server logs, I can't say for sure what's going on. But I'm guessing that php script is using some old(er) version of PHP or perhaps newly disabled php functions/syntax (i.e. short open tags, auto registered global variables from $POST and $GET).

Check your apache logs and see what the exact error is.
