Hello, I am new to this forum and would appreciate any assistance.
I recently converted my website from PHP to ASP and I am trying to put in 301 redirects. Here are a few examples:
From http://www.zazensalonspa.com/index.php?p=anti_aging to http://www.profusionwebsites.com/zazensal/content/services/specialized_skincare_.asp
From http://www.zazensalonspa.com/index.php?p=body_treatments to http://www.profusionwebsites.com/zazensal/content/services/body_treatments.asp
From http://www.zazensalonspa.com/index.php?p=nail_enhancements to http://www.profusionwebsites.com/zazensal/content/services/nail_enhancements.asp
My issue is the extension for all my previous pages comes off the same root level page. Does anyone have an idea on how to handle this issue?
You should be able to handle this via URL rewriting assuming there is a consistency in the naming. Are you running it under Apache or IIS?
While you're doing this, you might also want to check out and perhaps follow the guidelines given in
http://www.w3.org/Provider/Style/URI
and so avoid having to change URLs again in the future.
Thank you both for your words of wisdom, you got us on the right path and the redirects are in place.
Thanks again!
