Different behaviour of Crypt Blowfish upon upgrading php

I have uninstalled Zend Core for Oracle which contains php 5.2.4 and installed Zend Server Community Edition which contains php 5.3.0. Crypt Blowfish version 1.0.1 was there before and still exists. mcrypt extension has been disabled before with the old version of php before and also with the new version of php now. But the credit card numbers which were encrypted with Crypt Blowfish when the old version of php was there is showing some funny characters with the new version of php after decrypting it. Can anybody tell me what I should do to tackle this issue?

Think it depends not of Crypt Blowfish.
Because have not changed since 2005.

1.0.1 (stable) was released on 2005-05-30

Maybe there is something else in your new 5.3.0 PHP that causes this issue?

I reinstalled Zend Core for Oracle. Then, decrypted the credit card numbers and stored them in a temporary table. I then uninstalled Zend Core for Oracle. Then I did a yum installation of php 5.3 that comes in the Zend Server for Community Edition package. I then encrypted the credit card numbers and stored it in the appropriate table. Finally, I removed the temporary table. That solved the problem.
