Back after 4 years or so...

I've had a busy few years and haven't logged in since 2005.

After selling Putfile; I moved to Austin, TX from the UK earlier this year and setup a web software company. I'm working with LAMP daily, and love my work.

I have a few sites such as www.UploadScreenshot.com etc, but mostly work on private backend systems these days.

Anyway, just thought I'd reintroduce myself... hope everyone is well. 🙂

Haha! Design is obviously not my thing. Give me an overloaded MySQL cluster and cheap commodity hardware and I'll have my fun!

haven't heard of Putfile before - but that must have been a good idea and Wikipedia covers the history..
did you laugh all the way to the bank ,or were you disappointed the big guys let the idea fall to one side?

There was a lot of potential IMO (80M+ pageviews/mo at sale), but there was a lot more corporate bull***t that got in the way. Fortunately I realized this pretty early on, left the company, and cashed out well before they blew everything to high hell.

It was really disappointing for a while, but I did learn a lot about business (and how not to do business) in general. Most likely a once in a life time experience, and I'm really grateful for it!

re godalming to TX: yes indeed a real change! I actually spent a few years in TX about 10 years ago, so it's not so strange to me. Austin is a cool city and is a great place to run a tech business!
