[RESOLVED] max # of queries

Hey All!

So I'm running a script that makes a lot of queries to my MySQL db. It got me wondering, how many queries give or take can a script make to a db before the script crashes? Thanks for your time.

Dont think the number of queries is the limit.
Even if I know mysql databases can get overloaded.

One php.ini setting that can stop scripts from running is max_execution_time
Default is to stop php execution after 30 sec
But we can set this to having no limit in beginning of script using set_time_limit()

how long is a piece of string? At old work we ran at 20,000 per second average most days, current work the busy one only runs 124 per sec average.

there are so many factors involved any number will be meaningless.

If your on a hosted account they may tell you what the per customer limit is.

Although one wonders why any script would need to make enough queries to raise a question of "how many is too many".

(Protip: needing to ask questions like that means either you're using the wrong thing or you're using it the wrong way.)
