is it best to include multiple require_once(''); or better to put all functions used in the app into one include file?

You are not going to use all the functions everywhere, so it is usually better to separate them and include them as needed.

okay, does it take server to process more script even though the function is not being used? what i mean to say does the server see the function as turned on if it doesnt see it being used but its described.. do you know what i mean?

sorry guys if am bothering you with dum questions but i learn quick and in a way its good to know that someone else is out there, btw this $_SESSION stuff is huge, i can pass an array to another page without using the link super. 🙂)

depends on how many functions you have
and how long that included funtion page is

if you only have like 5-10 functions totally
it may not be anything wrong with just 1 functions file
... it is practical to have it all in one page

but say you have 30 or more functions in one very long include page
then it takes time to read for your script
and maybe we will notice your pages load a little bit slower

Realistically, you will probably have sets of functions that implement a particular functionality. This is especially obvious when you have a class, and thus all the methods of the class go together. For the purpose of keeping you and your fellow maintainers sane, it is therefore usually a good idea to group these related functions in an include file. When classes are involved, you might even have a convention where each include file contains only one class and its helper and auxiliary functions, and then use autoloading.
