Thanks. I took out the "@" and added to then swapped out completely the line of code you pointed out, and I'm still getting the same error, but I'm not seeing any other error output without the "@". 🙁

This is the whole chunk. Sorry if that makes the post a hard read. In any event. The book had $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] defined at the top where its had me defining all my variables from the start. Please note CAPS comments are not me yelling, they're for readability. Complete noob to the site as far as posting goes and I wasn't comfortable posting the entire page.
