[RESOLVED] need help in cutting a string into two

i been trying for a while but couldn't figure out how to do this

my string contains something like this: "word word S##E## words..."

= single number

and what i want is to add a tag after the "S##E##"

Do you want to break the string up with the so its
S##
E##

or just add a after you string?
S##E## ?
that you can do with just

$MyString="S##E##"."<br />";

If I understand it correctly, what you want is

preg_replace('/S\d\dE\d\d/', '\0<br/>', $string);

Alternatively, assuming $string = say something like 'word word S65E89 words...';

$string = preg_replace('#(?<=S\d{2}E\d{2})#', '<br>', $string);

or - (in the event of possible variable length of numbers between S and E / or even if not):
```
$string = preg_replace('#S\d+E\d+\K#', ' ', $string);
```
