Auto Loading image

Hello all, I have a search engine PHP script, it also displays whether a url is available or not by displaying a tick or cross image. my problem is while it fetch url availability details it's taking too long to display the results page. my idea is to put a temporary loading image on results page until the fetching is done & then to display a tick or cross image. If this is possible can someone help me please ?.🙂

You can do this, by using a javascript such as this one I havn't used this one personally, but you effectively turn on the animation / prompt then onload remove it.

Although - taking a look at the actual scripts method of validating URL's may help, you may be able to increase the speed by using cURL (if it doesn't already).

Of course, cURL would have to be available on your system as well.

Thank you for reply big.nerd. I tried your preload_wait script but it is something that put the hole page in loading.. status, what I real want is to display the search results page without any delay first and then to display the tick or cross image based on availability status. The script is using cURL and the code it use to display a link availability image is <img id="linkcheck-<?php echo $idl;?>" src="<?php echo LinkCheck($origtype,$idl);'width="16" height="16" border="0"'?>" this part of the code <?php echo LinkCheck($origtype,$idl) describe the image path. I need some script to put there to place a preloading image untill it grabs and place the real image. :queasy:
