Comparing the data in two folders

Hello!

I have two folders. The first folder holds random size images and the second one holds static size images (300x180). How can write a script that compares those two folders? All the images added to the first folder should be resized automatically and then added to the second folder.

Can anyone come up with a working solution ?

What is the basis for comparison? Going by filename then identifying files is easy: [man]scandir[/man] to scan the two directories; [man]array_diff[/man] to subtract the listing of the second directory from the first; the array that results is a list of images that need resizing. For that a plain foreach() loop iterating over that result array will do the job.

The first step would be to
get all filenames into 2 arrays.
Then comparing the 2 arrays is not difficult. There are plenty of array functions to use

[man]scandir[/man] is a very nice function, easy to use
to grab all files in one directory

array scandir ( string $directory [, int $sorting_order = 0 [, resource $context ]] )

Returns an array of files and directories from the directory .

Can you provide some more code / an example of a solution ? I am really struggeling with it. I read through scandir, array_diff and forloop and I get the idea what they can be used for but I dont know how to compile them together to have a working script.
