Unknown long pause after login - Please Help!

So, I have a need for a login script and decided to try this Advanced Login System. Everything seems to work in that it protects my pages and handles registrations and sign-ins but, I have a tremendously long wait after successful login before the landing page shows in the browser. I have checked and monitor the system logs (I own the server) and have found nothing to explain this pause.

The login page that asks for username and password renders fine. As one goes through the registration process, the pages load quick as expected. Only after successful login does the pause occur and it's about 30 - 60+ seconds. Also, once logged in, protected pages accessed within the session have at least a 30 second pause between loads. Server has nothing to say about it. The author doesn't know. Seems to work fine for many others. I'm stuck.

I've tried this on 2 servers now. My main server is an Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS and I've tried it on a Debian 5 server with the same results. Could it be a php.ini setting? Apache? I would post any config files on request.

That system is enciphered, unless you pay money.
So, there is no way we can study the code
and try to figure out what causes your time delay.
May even be the very fact it is encoded, that make script take unnecessary long time.

Unless the author can help you, I suggest you use some other script.
There are plenty of Free and Open php Login scripts.

I purchased the source code to rule out the encryption scheme he used. Same results.
