security issues on a page

Dear ..... uhhh.... experienced ones!! 🙂
I am an amateur php coder.... its juss been abt two months dat i've started lookin at php codes....... an i'm really lookin forward to take this to the highest level....... i'm justa newbie though........

anyways... i juss wanted to know wat security issues may come up while hosting a site... i mean... wat basic things should we take care of before actually releasing a site..........??

Also, if you're using pre-built systems, like blogs or shopping carts, or a cms, make sure you keep it up-to-date with any released updates. Using popular unpatched system is one of the main causes I've seen of people getting their sites hacked, as pre-built systems mean a large user-base to attack.
