French characters in a mailto

Hi all,

I'm having a hard time with french characters in a mailto.

For Example:

[INDENT]when you click on the mailto <a href="mailto:someone@example.com?Subject=L'étude">,

The subject results in a series of incorrect characters.

The subjects becomes L'�%25c2%25a9tude rather than the correct French word L'étude.[/INDENT]

What mail client program you use?

Here is how to set in Outlook Express

To change the configuration settings in Outlook Express,
bring up the Options item in the Tools menu.
This has a number of different tabs.
Here is the Send tab:

I think there's something wrong with my actual code.

I checked on a few different email clients earlier and none of them are viewing it correctly.

Try put this in <head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" />

</head>
<body>
