[RESOLVED] Is there a program that will automatically indent existing code?

Hi,

I have now learned how to indent properly, but before I just hacked together bits and didn't think about indenting!

Anyway I wondered if there is a program out there that I can put my unindented code into and then it will indent it all appropriately (rather than me go through everything I have already done).

Not to my knowledge. It really depends on your code format. I know ViM can autoformat things for you; however, it only does so much. You'll still have to go through and manually fix those issues.

I don't know of any real PHP formatter program. If it were XML it would be one thing, but PHP is another.

Doesn't NogDog have some sort of script that attempts to auto-clean code?

My (outdated) version of Zend Studio will do it. It's likely the newer versions will as well. Granted, it won't just go through every file in a directory and fix them, but you can do it each time you edit a file.

EDIT: it will NOT however, add line breaks, etc. if those are needed.
