Displaying changing text variables

Hello,

I have variables that are changing probably every 5 minutes or so. I have a very simple print statement to display the variable text. The problem is once someone is displaying the webpage......the text doesn't change for them....unless they refresh.

What is the best way to display constantly changing text variables. I figured flash would work.....however, I do not know how to code in flash. Any ideas?

you can load a text from a PHP file into a div by AJAX and refresh this event in periodically in time.
