Routing Without Primary Key..

hi Guys,

I m using Symfony 1.4.4, Doctrine ORM with NetBeans IDE.

I have developed the sample project in symfony framework. its cool...!

Now Problem is in Routing..!

I cant use the Routing URL without Primary Key..! its shows the error..!

my routing.yml:


show_content:
  url:  /content/:pri_key/:module_type_slug
  class: sfDoctrineRoute
  options: { model: Content, type: object }
  param:  { module: content, action: show }
  requirements:
    sf_method: [get]

my URL is look like this..!

http://www.domain.com/module/pri_key/module_type_slug

What I Expect is, I need the URL without the Primary Key..! like this,

http://www.domain.com/module/module_type_slug

i change the Routing as,


show_content:
  url:  /content/:module_type_slug
...
...

but this shows the 404 not found error..! The following error I got..!

This request has been forwarded to a 404 error page by the action "content/show".
[/B]

My executeShow() method:


 public function executeShow(sfWebRequest $request)
  {
    $this->template = Doctrine::getTable('Content')->find(array($request->getParameter('pri_key')));
    $this->forward404Unless($this->template);
  }

Guys, guide me how to get the clean URL without the Primary Key..!

I think symfony's forums would be a better place to ask - there'd be a higher proportion of experts in the field, there. There's almost no actual PHP content in your post - only a single PHP method that consists entirely of symfony code.

Hi lathifmca,

First of all i must say im not at all a symfony guru. Im also started leaning symfony few days back.:p

But i think i know the problem here. First of all i`m assuming you have either,

Have a table field called moduletypeslug or
You have a method in 'content' table class as,

public function getModuleTypeSlug()
{
// return slug
}

I think you problem is here,

$this->template = Doctrine::getTable('Content')->find(array($request->getParameter('pri_key')));

$request->getParameter is used to get the value from the $_GET array.since you have removed pri_key from the URL it will fail there.

so instead of that try,

$this->template = $this->getRoute()->getObject();

Since your router.yml has define the necessary model this will fetch the contents thats matched passed moduletypeslug and pass the object into the action.

As I said before I`m also not a guru in this so please bare with me.
