Named anchors with get attributes

I'm trying to jump to a named anchor inside a page where a form is submitted and there are get attributes in the URL.

How would I handle this situation?

In what context? That is, how would you do it if there wasn't a query string in the URL?

Doing that to my URL still doesn't work, for some reason.

Can you show us the HTML you're using to try to achieve this?

I have a search form that submits to a PHP script that generates the HTML content for a Smarty template. I really am not sure where to put the named anchor, anyway, even if it did work.
I have the named anchor in place and if I add it to the query string, it still won't navigate to the anchor.
