php form not mailing

Hey guys,

New to this place but I'm in need of some advice on fixing my php contact form. The current link to the form I'm working on is http://www.softsigns.com/contact_TEST.php and i have also loaded the code in the attached .txt file.
The problem is that the form can be completed, and no errors shown after submission, but no e-mail is sent out. After installing phpMyAdmin, it notified me that the php version is lower than 5.2. when i copy the exact code from the site and upload it on to my personal site, the form works and sends out the mail. Now could the problem be the lower version of php being used or is it something else i am completely missing.

Couple things... for one, you should never use a user-supplied e-mail address for the "From" header; doing so is very likely to get you labeled as an open relay and blacklisted by RBL's and the like. Always use a valid e-mail address on your own domain; if you want to incorporate the user's e-mail address, do so in a "Reply-To" header instead.

Also, the line endings on your headers line are reversed: it should be CR LF, not LF CR.

Finally, is display_errors set to On and error_reporting set to E_ALL?

Thanks for the reply. Now I made the changes to the 'From' header but I'm a little confused on the CR LF, as that is the first time I've seen this. Can you explain to me what is needed to be done? Thanks.

Preface: I don't know that the line ending issue is causing mails to not be sent at all, but it's at least something to try.

CR stands for Carriage Return, and LF stands for Line Feed. "\r" is used to represent a CR character, and "\n" is used to represent an LF character. In your code, the order of the line endings is "LFCR" (or "\n\r") when the correct order is CRLF (or "\r\n").

Did you also check the error-related directives above to ensure that you're seeing any and all error messages PHP might be generating?
