[RESOLVED] output to UPDATE query Help

Am really stuck here i can get the Average stats of the columns using AVG()

and i can echo the output but i don't know how to write this into a variable

so when it out puts it updates automatically to the other table. ?

Come on 150 odd Views - not one coder knows how to help me on this one.

i want to find out the average of a column where column name = certain word.

i want the output data to output , but the at the same time i want the answer to .

be updated into a different table.

This has to be automatic i dont want to have to press a button.

asuming 1 row

$avg =$row['AVG(avratingplyr)']

then use $avg in your insert

if multiple rows put the insert into the loop.

yer i have actually tryed that one before still don't work i get a parse error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_ENCAPSED_AND_WHITESPACE, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or T_NUM_STRING then the line

the more i look at it somethings missing. - i think it could be my update not querying

in your above code you don't run $query3, just write the query to a sting.

$CLUB = $_GET['clubname']; - What ever i type in a input form it will pull.

The pulling etc is working its just not updating the database with data extracted.

also if i wanted to write multiple querys

how do i do it like this

mysql_query ("UPDATE clubaverage SET averageteamrating='$HERE' WHERE averageclubname='$club'");
then Repeat for example.
mysql_query ("UPDATE clubaverage SET averageteamwin='$HERE' WHERE averageclubname='$club'");

or is it possible to do this.

mysql_query ("UPDATE clubaverage SET averageteamrating='$HERE', averageteamwin='$test' WHERE averageclubname='$club'");
