First, hi. I'm new so I'm going to try to make this make sense as best as I can.
I have a huge project (for a newbie to PHP) which my friend and I figured out to a few points. I have two things I need help on. 1. making my database search-able and 2. creating a pedigree based on the information in the database.
For the pedigree, I have numbers assigned to the parents and I want to use them to go back (as far as I can) a few generations and, preferable, display siblings, too (unless that's making things WAY to complicated at this point.)
I had a online-friend start the process for the pedigree but he never finished it. He had it set up to search for the name of the parents (which doesn't work very well as there may be duplicate names in the database). I want to change that to search for the number which would give a more accurate pedigree.
Any help would be wonderful for both parts. 😃
