Problem with Cookies in Forms

Hi,
I am having a problem with cookies in forms.

I have added cookies on submit of form.

Its happening successfully.

Now when i am returning the form after validation , the cookies are not displayed.
The whole form is blank.

When i back or refresh is done , again the cookies come in the fields.

The form is in the main function.

When i return

the function is returned successfully both the cookies are not displayed.

When the form is reopened in the browser or refresh or back is done the cookies are displayed.

Please tell me where i am going wrong.

Hi ,

Below is the code. The problem is with cookies. Checking and everything is happening fine. When first time the form is submitted cookies is registered. But when the value is changed the form is dealing with the last cookies not the new one.

Like if first time sam is entered. The database checks sam exists , it returns a message and the last cookies, but its not happening its returning blank field. but when i again enter a new name like rohin, the form is sending sam.

Why this is happening. Please help me out. Also tell me how to delete cookies permanently when a fresh page is opened.

you want to store $_POST['username'] in the cookie not $username, also sessions would be a better idea than cookies

$username=$_REQUEST['username'] which is coming from form.

Now i want to store that value as cookies everytime.

My problem has been solved by using session variables. But what is the problem with cookies?? Can u please explain.
