where can I find PHP EXERCISES for an employee?

OK, I enjoy phpbuilder and have used it for what, 10 years now. And my employee, a budding coder, uses it, usually if I twist his arm. However, what I really need is a few resources that give EXERCISES, namely,

explain a concept
give problems (like, develop a recursive function that does xyz)
have an answer key to check, along with possibly a debrief on what the unobvious area(s) of smartness were that made the block of code do its job

Surprisingly, I have not found anything out there in this format. Does anyone know of something like this? It's so important that I might just start a forum like this if I can't find one.

Maybe a year ago I was searching the web for something similar and did not find anything that looked useful. I realize that doesn't really help, other than to possibly confirm that your searching has not been off the mark. 🙂

Are you still looking for PHP exercises? We have just put up a site with 26 beginner to intermediate exercises at http://phpexercises.com. It's not exactly as you describe. The instruction/explanation is left to other tutorial sites; only exercises here. So far, they cover variables, control structures, forms, arrays and functions, as well as some other things. You see the problem first, then click a button for the answer script and a link to the script's output.

Come try it out.

This is a good start, however hopefully some more complex examples come along. I have a whole library of functions which, IF i HAD TIME, I would love to turn into tutorials that say "make a function that does this" - the user would learn by comparison and my docs are good so he'd have an opportunity to see someone else's approach.
