[RESOLVED] URGENT... problem importing script

I keep getting an error while trying to import a script.

MySQL: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ï»¿DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `ps_product`' at line 1

The script has been edited with a text editor and I can find no chars ï»¿ in any line.
Can anyone help out?

Sounds like you edited it in Unicode format, and the connection to the server has been set in a non-Unicode encoding. So, two questions:

Which encoding is the file in?
How are you attempting to import this file to MySQL?

Yes, it is UTF-8.
I am using BigDump.php because the import files are large.

A quick Google search showed that BigDump has a "$db_connection_charset variable in bigdump.php" that can be set. What is the value of this variable?

Also, is the file you're importing a normal .sql file, or is it a CSV file or something like that?

I was able to get one file working by opening the file in a hex editor and copying the data beyond the ï»¿ marker and pasting into another file.

Does the SQL file have any "SET NAMES" commands in it that might switch the connection back to something other than utf8?

From all appearances, it looks like you should have no problems sending UTF-8 encoded data to the server, so perhaps the file got damaged when it was edited? Not sure what else to suggest at this point...

Actually there was one:

/*!40101 SET NAMES utf8 */;

in the first file I imported and none afterwards.
