Making a Graph by monthly views of a page

hi Everyone

i am stuck on one thing it is that i am trying to make a graph i have chosen the platform which is highcharts i know that it is but i will get the data and i only want to know when i make i page and anyone views it , a view will be recorded in the db and by the date. Now i want to fetch the starting date and today date and calculate the months between them then i will divide them so only 12 appear and then i will show that month's total views
can any one help me please i'm desperate 😕😕😕😕😕

SELECT MONTH(timestamp),count(*)
from hits
group by MONTH(timestamp)
