How to rewrite line 3 of all PHP files in a directory?

Hi guys, I was wondering how I could rewrite line 3 of all the entire PHP files in a directory?

I used to do this manually before, but that was when there were only 10~12 PHP files, but this can't do it any more because within the directory I want to change/rewrite line 3, this directory contains about 80~90 files and it takes a lot of time to do this every time I make changes!

The directory is called 'includes' and the PHP files have different names than another!

Can somebody help me with this please!
I need to get this done before Sunday!

Use [man]glob/man to get a list of all ".php" files in the directory.
Loop through that array of results and open each file in turn using [man]file/man.
1. Modify the contents of the 3rd array index (that'd be [2], not [3] 😉).
2. Join the pieces back together into a single string using [man]implode[/man].
3. Use [man]file_put_contents/man to overwrite the file with the new data.

Thanks guys, anybody know how to do that using existing apps such as Adobe Dreamweaver or Beyond Compare!

Or even creating a PHP app that could do that! But what about permission that must be given!

Given that this is a PHP board, you're probably going to have better luck finding a PHP-related solution.

The user that the PHP interpreter is executed under must have read+execute permissions on the directory itself, and must have read+write permissions on the .php files.

if you are in a linux env you can use SED... its saved my butt in mass-replacement situations in the past
