don't use all caps, do use the boards php tags.

echo $q1; do the values match what you expect? check the db contains the values you expect.

Looks likes caps to me; and if that's your attitude i have plenty of other things i could be doing than helping you. :p

Dude that is an intro message and not the script-the script is below the message. If you are confusing the message from the script then you are not the right man for the job. I will wait on other more knowledgeable people to respond. Good luck Dragon

Back down - Dagon is a very wise, very savvy PHP-er.

What he was referring to was your sentences being in ALL-CAPS. This looks like, and is widely considered to be shouting. He also mentions using the board tags to enclose any PHP code in the correct tags. This means that code get's PHP highlighting and is much easier to read. (I notice brad has edited your post to include these now)

Finally, obviously Dagon did read the script and suggested a course of action. Have you tried that yet?

This is not a conversation board but problem solving. By caps i was trying to distinguish between the script and the message. I am new on this board but so far i am getting total nonsense - so i am wondering if i am on the right board where brilliant minds come together. I am here for solutions not discuss each other's conversations. Paul - the board clearly distinguished the two from the minute i posted this - so the board managers are with it/they distinguished my message and the script from the start. I am trying to see if i can get PHP savy people/brainees or geeks if you will...people that can look at the script and post a new script with proper corrections. People that can look at script and see a problem from the get go..such brilliant minds are what i am looking for. So please unless you are editing my script, lets not waste each other's time

Since tone can't be conveyed via text on the internet, typing in all caps is commonly accepted as the equivalent of shouting. If you weren't aware of that before, you might consider reading the article How To Ask Questions The Smart Way (especially since your subject line breaks two of the most basic considerations in that article).

I gave you the benefit of the doubt in that you hadn't used PHPBuilder and/or vBulletin before and might not have been aware of the [noparse]

I was attempting to help you (in vain, it seems), since many people are turned away from ever replying when the see a large block of unformatted PHP code in the body of a post.

Such "brilliant minds" are most likely busy viewing (and perhaps responding) to threads where the poster doesn't seem to be as arrogant, combative, insulting, etc. etc. While I'm no self-proclaimed "brilliant mind" myself, your attitude towards two posters who have been members of PHPBuilder for 8+ years doesn't give me any incentive at all to even take the time to read your code and volunteer advice.
