Who said that a row in a database has anything at all to do with a "hit" on a website?
I would think that if data was truly pointless for all parties involved, then no one would bother to collect it in the first place.
I would suggest that you're comparing apples to oranges, but even that analogy doesn't describe the depth of your (over-)generalizations.
hmmm....
Heres my situation.. Im developing a very complicated in concept web application..
But im a very limited programmer. But i have always believed that the simpler you can make something the better.
When i have looked at commecial scripts that do things. They seem to have 50 pages. Even when it seems they could do that with far simpler scripts at 1st..
I read thru there codes and all i see is this..
//this is where my coffee went cold..
$pointless function = to $pointless varible;
repeat x 2000...
it just seems like im wading thru pages and pages of filler....
I manged to write a script that takes the top players from a legue and puts them into a new league table and then resets the league they have just been put into.. with about 8 lines of code...
I dont understand where these 80 pages come from in the comercial scripts... are these people just over complicating what they are doing.....
