[RESOLVED] djpeg does not output file

OK, Moved to a new server and also set this script up on a godaddy server with the same results. Upload and resize and image and get 0k jpeg files when completed.

netPbm and the libJpg libs are installed.

After the file is posted, I can see the details of the file under $_FILES so I know that the file is uploaded, then we enter

system("djpeg $imgfile >$tmpimg");

After this $tmpimg does not esist as far as I can see.

If you output that string instead (e.g. change 'system' to 'print') and execute the command from the CLI, does it work as expected? Do you get any error messages instead?

By CLI you mean though an SSH connnection? No I have not tried that and would take some time to figure the whole process via putty.

That'd be the easiest way to get at the CLI remotely, yeah.

Er... you mean beyond a few seconds? All you'd do is type in the host name and click "OK."

no just looking into the syntax of usuing djpeg via putty. I uploaded the file via my script, then I dont see it in my user account tmp/

Array ( [imgfile] => Array ( [name] => sand.jpg [type] => image/pjpeg [tmp_name] => /tmp/phpP6vFkQ [error] => 0 [size] => 13694 ) )

I assume this may go into the nobody ownership?

I ran straigh djpeg on a jpg file via command line and it had an ascII dump on the screen so it appears the lib is there and working

The syntax? Don't you already know the syntax:

What do you mean by "my user account tmp/" ?

The file will be placed in the /tmp/ folder as shown in the output above. As far as the file ownership, that will depend upon how the webserver daemon (and possibly PHP) is configured.

OK as i am making tmp images with my script, I see they are going to /usr/tmp not myaccount/tmp

OK, I see I making this more difficult as we go.

I upload the image , get a temp name > OK
I run djpeg and name it , saves to /usr/tmp with an actual size > OK

run

         system("pnmscale -xy 250 200 $tmpimg | cjpeg -smoo 10 -qual 50 >$imgfile");
		$imgsize = GetImageSize($imgfile);
		print $imgsize ;

And get no response

Note I can unlink $tmpimg with no permission issue.

ok, appears i dont have pnmscale anyehre although i loaded the imagemagick lib

OK, scrap this whole deal, I see GD lib is where i need to move to now! THanks for your assistance.
