need help in CURL

hey guys,
I am trying to submit a form with curl but it doesnt work. i dont even get the source code.
i am using these curl opts:

curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_URL,$url);
curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_POST,count($fields));
curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS,$fields_string);
curl_setopt($ch,CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER,1);

the url i try to access is redirecting me immediately to another page where the form is.
i mean i try to access https://example.com/page?id=235223
and it automatically redirects me to :https://example.com/page_2?id=23252

i dont know how it redirect me, by js, meta tag, header or whatever.
it also uses a https protocol.
can someone tell me what do i need to do to make it work?
(i tried adding a FOLLOW_LOCATION in curl and it didnt work)
if you need anymore details / better explanation just ask.

what's the value for $url?

Save the contents of the page at your url, then inspect it. If it's an http (header) redirect, then curl will follow this provided the correct options are set (follow and max redirs). I'm not sure what would happen with the deprecated meta redirect, but you can always parse the contents for this tag and issue a new http request with curl. If it is neither of these, you'd have to find the appropriate javascript code, possibly by downloading additional js source documents.

I inserted the redirected url and removed the "s" in the https and it worked.
with https it didnt work.
