Problem with PHP coding

I have created an HTML webpage for inserting student information. I have created a database table using MySQL and stored in the database. Then I have written a PHP code for connecting the HTML to the MysQL database..

I have uploaded the HTML and PHP page with names form.html and form.php
please checkout the codes once.

When I entered all the values in the HTML page and clicked on submit, all the values are entered but not gender and date of birth. Why??? is this happening

the file names are webpage.txt for HTML code and

mysqlconnectivity.txt for PHP code

For gender, is it entering a 1 or 2 into the gender column in your database?

For date of birth what data type is the column in the database is it; DATE, DATETIME, TIMESTAMP, VARCHAR, TEXT, ect.?

No the gender is not taking any value in it... (nor 1 or 2) and the blank is left empty..

I have given varchar for the date

your script works fine in my computer.
only thing is both gender radio buttons have the same value '1'. anyways still it keep inserting value 1 irrespective of what you choose on the form. Please post you database table dump if you have problem still exists.

hey dude thanks for the reply..

     In this program, The value of Gender returns Male and female both return the same value 1... So I need to know that whether the radio buttons return only 1, not the string 'Male' or 'Female'. 

                 and moreover

So how does a professional site like gmail.com or yahoo.com store over gender category as Male or Female

I have one more doubt, the email id i enter does not store, the table doesnot show the maid id, and it is left blank. please check once again... If it enters please send the modified code to me...

I will also upload the validation code... I want to do server side validation code... but the code does not work properly...can u discuss on it

For gender normally developers use flags life 1/o or M/F etc.

change

<strong>Male  </strong>

and show accordingly while you display it on another page.

your email_id field has a length of only 20 characters, increase it to 100 or 200.
