[RESOLVED] first space after fifty characters

Hi

This is supposed to give me the first 50 characters of string $test and then any non-space characters upto the first space.

[FONT="Fixedsys"]
preg_match('#^{\s(.{50,}?)\s+.$#s',} $test, $match);[/FONT]

What I get is the whole of $test.

Please tell me what the mistake is!

Use [.php] [./php] tags (without the dots) when posting.
Try this:

preg_match('#.{50}\S+#', $test, $match);
