New page added to site, but always redirects back to - index.php?msg=noaccess

Hello brand new here (first post), and while ive dived in head first and doing my best to learn, im brand new to php too. Thanks in advance for the help, sure ill be around a lot, ha ha.

Heres the problem...

Im working on an existing site which needed a new page creating (lets say newpage.php). Ok, so I created the page and uploaded it to the server, but when I try to navigate to the new page it simply redirects me back to index.php but with the addition of ?msg=noaccess (i.e. idex.php?msg=noaccess).

Any help on what I might be doing wrong here greatly appreciated. Im happy to do my own reading and research, but pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Look for an .htaccess file. If there's one in the root, then you will probably need to modify it.
