expiration date & redirect

I'm calling in an expiration date from a database ('cause I don't know another way) and trying to go to other programs depending on whether the expdate has occurred. The expdate is 2010-10-30 I get no errors just a blank page ?
I sure could use some direction.

Its been a while since I touched programming and I decided to get back into it. But the first thing that caught my eye was the ELSE IF statement.

You have:
elseif ($expiration_date = $today)

I think it should be:
elseif ($expiration_date == $today)

The way you have it setup, I think it assigns $today to $expiration_date, but I could be wrong, its been a long time since I did this stuff.

Well, 10-30-2010 hasn't past yet, so you should get nothing since there is nothing in your final else block to run (could have misread, been up too long).

Also,

$todays_date = date("Y-m-d");
$today = strtotime($todays_date);

can be written as

$today = strtotime();

since strtotime uses time by default and time is today.
