I am looking for a Dedicated Server...Does this sound good?

I am looking at ServerProntos stuff (http://www.serverpronto.com/) and i am curious if the started package is good enough? I am hosting an auctions/ecommerce type site that will involve the app getting data from the database EVERY second (Its ran on a timer and has to update information about the auction every second so changing this is not an option). Does the ram/bandwidth/space/everything sound good or should I splurge and get the Basic. I am kinda lost with this stuff...or do you guys have any suggestions?

A VPS mite be able to keep up with your demands unless your going to be having ebay level traffic in which case you are in a different ball park from just one server.

Doesn't look too bad. I do note that you could get more RAM and space for the same price at rootbsd.net ... and no, I don't work for them 😃

OH, and also for your question.. Not trying to be rude but um. serverpronto completely SUCKS. I heard they have hidden charges they will charge to your credit card and they wont refund you if you cancel.. then something about some hidden cancellation fee.. but be careful if you go with them 😉 I'm with http://www.ThePlanet.com great company.

My philosophy is that resources must be liberated from the overlords. So, not, but if I had cash flow and needed someone else's stuff, I'd look into them. I run BSD on my boxen, so it's a logical choice.

I've used server pronto in the past. I was not very happy with them. Support tickets took forever. (Just a simple reboot request). After I canceled my service with them, they charged my credit card for 6months and I had to get my credit card company to remove the charges.
