PHP Socket connect to remote LAN PC Serial Port

Hi,

Requirement:

Open up a Socket connection using a PHP script running on a Web Server which is on the same LAN as the target XP PC's physical Serial Port that I want to read data from?

Is it possible?

If yes, how can I do it?
