Hello everybody, Anybody knows about mail bounce checking in PHP. I have to make a code to display in the platform about whether the sent mail is bounced or not.. Thanks in Advance

The way e-mail works, there really is very little you can do to ensure that an e-mail is sent properly. The most you can (reliably) do is verify that the e-mail was at least accepted by your MTA for deliver (e.g. if [man]mail/man returns true).

Beyond that, it's out of your hands. You could have a PHP script check the messages received at the account used to send the e-mails and attempt to parse the Non-Delivery Reports (NDRs) it receives in order to detect a bounced e-mail.

I use the code mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers,"-f $bounce");

here in $bounce mail , I am geting the bounceback mail correctly. I just need to show whether the bounce back mail came in the mail. So that according to that I can display red or green light on my php file..

Well there are a couple of ways to at least get PHP to parse the incoming mail. For one, you could setup a special mailbox that pipes all e-mail to a PHP script. In other words, PHP will automaticaly be invoked whenever a message is sent to that address - search Google with phrases such as "pipe mail to php" for more info/examples.

A second option might be to setup a cron job to automatically execute a PHP script on an interval to login and retrieve messages from that mailbox (via POP3/IMAP/etc.) and then do the parsing.
