use PHP to overlap a vocal and instrumental mp3?

Hi everybody,

Does anybody have any suggestions of how PHP could be used to overlap mp3s - a vocal version and an instrumental version - and write them together to one file?

I've not done a lot of research, but I'm thinking that you'd have to call a 3rd party application or library to do this.
