i guess i'm not sure what might go in between the brackets. do you by any chance know how to access the original wordpress thesis index.php?

while these both work 1 is a lot easier to read and maintain. i also prefer never to echo inside a function but to return the data and echo it outside.

there are an infinite number of possibilities as to what the function could do

function thesis_html_framework(){};

is valid but does nothing

so now, nothing shows up at all. not even a syntax error.

i'm not sure what to indicate for the function.

yes, i do have thesis.
i think i somehow messed up the function. would you know how to access what was originally in the file?

i would install it fresh or copy the file from what ever installation package was provided

i have copies of my custom.php and custom_functions.php

well the index.php should be several hundred lines long so it got corrupted at some point, i would think its safe to reinstall, but i don't use wordpress, backup everything first.
