[RESOLVED] $xml->asXML() returns error

Hello! I am new to php and for XML. Please, can somebody help me.

$uri = "http://api.bart.gov/api/route.aspx?cmd=stninfo&key=RASV-P9D8-TU75-6MX2&orig=PITT;

$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $uri);
$contents = curl_exec ($ch);

$xml = new SimpleXMLElement($contents);
echo $xml->asXML()."<br>";

$xml = simplexml_load_string($contents);
echo $xml->asXML();

curl_close ($ch);

in this code the last echo:
echo $xml->asXML();
gives me an error:

Invalid cmdThe cmd parameter (stninfo) is missing or invalid. Please correct the error and try again.

Please, can somebody tell me, what is wrong?

when I code:

echo $xml->stations->station->gtfs_latitude."<br>";

also nothing is printed!!!

I don't know what is wrong. 🙁

Hi,

Actually the problem appears to be with the call you're making to the BART API. The correct call should be:

$uri = "http://api.bart.gov/api/stn.aspx?cmd=stninfo&key=RASV-P9D8-TU75-6MX2&orig=PITT;

In the BART API, there are different base commands for each type of call. The call you were making (to route.aspx) only works with route information. There base commands are:
bsa.aspx - Advisories
etd.aspx - Real-time Estimates
route.aspx - Route information
sched.aspx - Schedule Information/Trip Planning
stn.aspx - Station information
