validating a csv file before inserting into database

Hi All

I want to upload a csv file. I have uploaded files in the past but this time i need some validation done before uploading.

i need to count the number of columns for all the rows and also need validation for the information in that columns.

can anyone pls head me towards right direction?

you cant validate it before uploading, you have to upload, then read\validate the file

Assuming you're going to validate after uploading to the server (but before uploading to the D😎, you can use fopen() and [man]fgetcsv/man to loop through each row and [man]count/man the columns and do other validation on the resulting array elements.

Yes u r right i m uploading it to server but needs validation before uploading it to the db
