[RESOLVED] sql select by age?

hello - i've got users date of births in a tables but i cant for the life of me figure out how to create an SQL select for ages?

ie select people who are 30 or in between certain ages...

date format is 1979-06-27

i'v been playing with;
date_add(NOW(), INTERVAL -7 YEAR)

but can't get it to work with ages.

any pointers much appreciated...

 	}

 	if($_POST['maxAge']){

 		echo $qb .="AND YEAR(cf_registered.dob) >= ".(date('Y')-$_POST['maxAge'])."";

you should never put user values directly in to a query
