Indexing and Searching Files

Hi
I seem to remember seeing an article about document management, but can't find it..

What I would like to do is index various files (doc, xls, txt, pdf) and then have FULL search of the text within each file.

Does anyone know of any scripts that do this ? ideally free or low cost..

I have a local PHP / MySQL server, so would prefer to do this via a web front end..

I just found seekafile on sourceforge..

A windows service, but could I add a web front to it ?
