Codeigniter or Symfony

Hi All.

I've hardly done any PHP for the last few years, it's all been VBA and now VB.NET. Now I have some web pages that I need to create for our clients to view and maintain their data; nothing fancy just a few forms for contact information, contract details, expenses and mileage input, etc. This is a priority project though so time matters.

I can't decide whether to use Codeigniter or Symfony for this: I don't know enough about either and both have thier fans. Whichever I choose, I'll be learning from scratch so the learning curve is a factor as well as the speed of development with the framework.

Can anyone recommend one or the other for me and give me their reasons as well.

PS: we want to intergrate the mileage with google maps directions api so the ease of this with a given framework is also a factor.

well symfony is a full stack framework with lots of great features but is not well suited for small projects.

codeigniter is smaller but does lack some built in features but is fast and most of those features can be plugined into codeigniter

I've not used Symfony, so all I can say is that I've found CodeIgniter to be well documented and useful, and performance seems quite reasonable. (The documentation is what got me to use it, after flailing around a bit with CakePHP.)

Another plus 1 for codeigniter (I know this is a bit behind). It's small, easy to extend and (as NogDog says) pretty well documented.
