storing images in a file and retrieving it.

i am requesting for code to store images in a file not directly to my database because i hear it will make it slow.

i have no idea on how to go about it.

then later i would like to search for a desired name and it displays the image.

any help will be appreciated.

where are the images coming from?

I get the image from a digital camera. and copy them to a file on my desktop or even to C: drive. now how do i get to retrieve the image with other related information from the database and display it together?

probably easiest to upload to your server via ftp.
