[RESOLVED] includes not including

[Ciannaky]

When I use include_once $_SERVER[‘DOCUMENT_ROOT’] . ‘/includes/dbcnx.php’;

I get - Warning: include(C:/wamp/www/includes/dbcnx.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in C:\wamp\www\ciannakygardens.com\admin\authors\index.php on line 22

if I use:

include_once ‘../../includes/dbcnx.php’;

everything works fine.

Any ideas?

Did you try echoing out your doc_root to see what path it's giving you?

sorry, should have mentioned I am a total noob and it took me a minute to figure out how to do that.

The path is C:wamp/www

I tried changing it in php.ini to C:wamp/www/ciannakygardens.com to no avail...

though, when I change the include to

include_once $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . '/ciannakygardens.com/includes/dbcnx.php';

it works...hmmmm.

The question now is if I upload this will it continue to work...last thing I want to have to do is change those paths by hand...😕

Thats what I was trying to avoid not using absolute paths.
